Vermont Inmate Search: How to Perform a Vermont Department of Correction Inmate Search

The Vermont Department of Corrections currently has six correctional facilities throughout the state. They include:

• Northern State Correctional Facility (NSCF) in Newport
• Northwest State Correctional Facility (NWSCF) in Swanton
• Southern State Correctional Facility (SSCF) in Springfield
• Chittenden Regional Correctional Facility (CRCF) in South Burlington Marble Valley
• Regional Correctional Facility (MVRCF) in Rutland
• Northeast Correctional Complex (NERCF & CCWC) in St. Johnsbury

Beginning in early 2009, the former Dale Women's Facility in Waterbury ceased operations. The state also discussed closing the Caledonia Community Work Camp in St. Johnsbury (situated near the Northeast Regional Correctional Facility) in March 2016 owing to under-population.

Although state employees manage most security services, the state has farmed out most functions, such as health services. There are 600 correctional officers in the Vermont Department of Corrections.

Prior to its closure, the Lee Adjustment Center in Beattyville, Kentucky, housed the state's convicts. The Florence Correctional Center in Florence, Arizona also housed other inmates.

Initially working with the GEO Group, Vermont also sent out-of-state inmates to Michigan's North Lake Correctional Facility. It now has a deal with CoreCivic to house out-of-state criminals in Mississippi's Tallahatchie County Correctional Facility.

The state of Vermont in the United States is governed by the Vermont Department of Corrections. It is in charge of monitoring probationers and parolees as well as maintaining control over the prison system.

Furthermore, this Department provides advisory support in the fight against crime and juvenile delinquency. The Waterbury State Office Complex in Waterbury serves as the home office of the Vermont Department of Corrections, which is a division of the Vermont Agency of Human Services.
